You’re already taken aback by the museum on the island of Oahu. When you take the boat out to the memorial, they ask that you treat it as you would a cemetary, for that’s what it is, with reverence. Even so, when you get to the memorial you’re simply not prepared unless someone has told you and even then your heart leaps into your throat as you step into the memorial proper.
