He’s infuriating all the right people, including Mayor “Basura” Bass and councilwoman Nithya “Bottom” Raman. Apparently, having made most public spaces in LA (parks, beachfronts and urban/suburban streets) significantly unpleasant and even dangerous (those which haven’t been burned over, of course) through actions and inactions combined, now one of them wants to give free dental care to toothless and homeless addicts, and the other is all hot to trot in spoiling private spaces by banning backyard BBQs. The first campaign promise comes off as one which explores a whole new frontier in tone deafness, and the other as just spiteful, nosy and interfering. It is my considered judgment that both women have never run into serious criticism, to judge by the indignant Margo Dumont-level “Well, I never!” reactions from them. Until now, they were protected against public criticism by the slick stainless-steel shield of dark skin, vagina, and command of progressive cant. Well, and the “D” designator for political party.

A Pratt blow-out in the LA mayoral election is something that normal, tax-paying non-woke citizens may secretly wish for very much, as near as we can assume from our own conservative guerrilla media. It could be that an overwhelming preference cascade is forming – one the size and force of Niagara Falls, undetected by the establishment media, a cascade which sweeps him into office. Sheer malicious incompetence, which appears to be perfectly fine with allowing large chunks of suburbia burn to the ground can’t possibly be tolerable even to the most wokified Los Angeles voter, especially if it is their own roof on fire. Even as I post this, another barely-contained brushfire is raging in the Simi Valley/Thousand Oaks area.

Perhaps the odds are against a Pratt victory at the polls are substantial … but not absolute. Alas, following up a Pratt victory in the mayoral polls with an LA version of a Romanian Merry Christmas probably isn’t in the cards … although lately one can’t be entirely certain of that. There is a lot of free-floating anger, and not all of it is on the woke side.
The big trouble that I can see – and probably Stevie Wonder can see it, too – is that even if Pratt does a blow-out election win, every established bureaucrat stuck like an impacted molar in the city administration will work overtime to sabotage him. And he certainly won’t get any love from Gruesome Newsome, or as I like to call him, Governor Brylcreem. There it is – anyone having special knowledge of how things are really shaping up in the City of Angels – comment as you wish.

You have to give the man credit for at least making a splash in the new media: Spencer Pratt knows how to play the eyeball-attracting game in posting guerrilla media ads, at minimal cost and circumventing the usual producers of political commercials.
